The Day She Bought the Farm
By Robyn, Nov. 29, 2001

Miss Catta-Strophee, our neighbor once was
I’ll tell of her, and only because
Her story is sad, and a tear it gives,
For the dear old lady no longer lives

'Twas long ago, she lived next door,
She said her health was very poor
We thought she did seem very pale
But didn’t think much, till through the mail

She asked a favor of us in town:
For her sake, “please do look around
For a farm”, and we responded fast
(We didn’t think she was going to last)

In the country, on a hill
A red barn stood, 'twas very real
We all pitched in, didn’t cost much a' tall
'Twould do the trick, though it was small

She was very grateful, she’s now appeased
Her soul can finally Rest in Peace
On May 9th, for the last time waving her arm,
 Miss Catta-Strophee Bought the Farm.
